Our first board meeting went very well the other day. We walked through the steps necessary to establish the interim board and get us started on official business. Our interim board is comprised of seven members, folks that have already stepped up to help in other areas...

My many thanks to these folks for all they've done and for volunteering to move us forward. They are a joy to work with!
One of the steps carried out at that meeting was to choose a bank at which to establish a deposit account. With much help from another volunteer, Cherry Lee, we compared the local bank and credit union options. Due to their fee structure, local focus and close proximity, we've decided to establish our checking account at OneUnited Bank.
Since the meeting this account has been opened. We'll be cashing membership investment checks this week and sending receipts shortly thereafter. Some of you have been waiting to hear this news since October of last year so thanks for your patience!
Our next board meeting is scheduled for Thursday February 4th. One of the agenda issues will be the March election for a continuing board. If you are interested in seeing how the board works please attend our meetings. All existing seats are up for one or two year runs plus our bylaws allow up to two more seats to be filled.
